What you need before you start

How do I find missed calls in my phone system?

Most systems keep a call history you can filter or download. Find your provider below; each step comes from the provider's own help pages, checked in October 2026.

Quo (formerly OpenPhone)

  1. Open your inbox, go to Calls, and tap the Missed filter.
  2. On Business and Scale plans, open Analytics and choose Export CSV. The file arrives by email.
  3. In the export, count calls marked unanswered and abandoned. Abandoned means the caller hung up before anyone could pick up.

Google Voice for business

  1. A Google Workspace admin opens the Admin console, then Reporting, then Audit and investigation, then Voice log events.
  2. Filter last month and use Export all to get a sheet or CSV.
  3. Google's help page lists no separate missed-call event, so if you cannot tell which calls went unanswered, ask each person to check the call history in their Voice app.

Grasshopper, a carrier line or anything else

Check your provider's call history or call report for last month and look for inbound calls nobody answered. If you cannot find it, ask their support for last month's inbound call log with missed calls marked.

What does your count mean?

Your missed-call count is the number of inbound calls nobody answered last month, leaving out the callers you rang back within an hour. Mark each call on the tally sheet by weekday and by time of day, so the busy gaps show up. The calls that matter most are the ones where the caller never reached you again, because those jobs may have gone to another plumber. Multiply that number by your average job value and you have the most last month's missed calls could have been worth. It is a ceiling, not a forecast, because not every caller would have booked. To turn the ceiling into a range, pick a cautious and a hopeful booking rate and multiply by each. The calculator on the home page does that sum for you. If the number surprises you, the free 15-minute call is the place to talk it through, and nothing leaves your office unless you order a full audit.

Wondering what to do about the number? Read whether missed call text back is worth it for a plumbing shop, or how an answering service compares with counting first.
